Daily Biscuits

For shelters and rescues

Send every cat home
with a plan.

One card in the adoption folder. Your adopters get Biscuit, a cat expert they can text, and the first month at home comes in small daily steps.

What an adopter gets in the first 30 days

The 3-3-3 rule, one day at a time.

The rule you already teach at the desk, turned into 30 small daily cards. A cat under the bed on day four reads as on schedule, not a problem.

3days to decompress.

Quiet room, a hiding spot, food and water close by. Nothing to fix yet.

3weeks to learn the routine.

Meals, play and the litter box at the same times, so the house starts to make sense.

3months to feel at home.

Tricks, games and the small rituals that turn a new cat into their cat.

  • Feeding worked out for their cat. How much, from the cat’s weight and age. Not the back of the bag.Source: WSAVA Global Nutrition Committee
  • Vaccine dates, straight from the papers. They text a photo of the adoption paperwork. Biscuit reads it, they confirm with one tap, and a reminder lands before the next dose.
  • Trick School. Yes, cats can learn tricks. 100 shelter cats got better at target, sit, spin and high five in two weeks. Thirty tricks, one step a day.Source: Kogan et al. 2017
  • Someone to ask. “Is this normal?” gets a straight answer any time, and anything urgent gets call your vet first.

Timed for when it matters

Most returns happen in the first two weeks.

That is exactly when the daily cards are busiest. We don’t have return numbers of our own yet and won’t quote anyone else’s as ours.

Where it all comes from

Built from research, not a forum.

111sourced passages
85sources

Every card and every answer leans on 111 sourced passages from 85 sources: peer-reviewed studies, the veterinary guidelines and the big welfare charities. Not a forum. Not a guess. The source sits beside the claim, in the app and on this page.

  • WSAVA
  • AAFP and ISFM
  • AAHA

Biscuit never diagnoses. Anything that sounds urgent gets call your vet first, every time.

What it costs

Nothing.

No contract. Nothing to install at the shelter. No integration with your shelter software. Free for your adopters too.

Daily Biscuits is a for-good project from one founder and his cat in New York.

What you do

One card. That’s it.

Put the card in the adoption folder, or paste one line into the adoption email you already send. Your three-day and three-week check-in calls land on someone who already has a routine.

Your card

Make your shelter’s card.

Type your shelter’s name and a short link name. The card redraws as you type, right here in your browser, and the address bar becomes your link.

Lower case letters, numbers and hyphens.

Card colour

Biscuit’s first reply will say: “” Pick a short name that reads well there.

A6 postcard, front and back. Four to a sheet at 50% on Letter or A4.

Just adopted?

Scan to text Biscuit

A cat expert you can text, free. Tell Biscuit your cat’s name and age, and the first days at home get a plan.

  1. Scan and send the text.
  2. Tell Biscuit their name and age.
  3. Text a photo of the adoption papers.

By texting, you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy, texts from Biscuit, and Anthropic’s AI reading them. Medical advice comes from your vet.

Copy and paste

One line for the email you already send.

Both carry your link, so adopters who come from you are counted as yours.

For the adoption email or text

Meet Biscuit, a cat expert you can text, free from our friends at Daily Biscuits. Send a photo of the adoption papers and Biscuit keeps the vaccine dates, works out how much to feed, and gives you one small thing to do each day for the first month: https://www.dailybiscuits.com/text?source=shelter:your-shelter

For Facebook or Instagram

Just adopted a cat, or about to? Our adopters get Biscuit free: a cat expert you text. Vet papers, feeding amounts, every “is this normal?” question. Scan the card in your adoption folder or start here: https://www.dailybiscuits.com/text?source=shelter:your-shelter

Android works too. Biscuit texts over iMessage. On Android the same card opens an ordinary text message, and the page it leads to also offers Set up in the app, which works in any phone’s browser. There is an iPhone app as well.

Who we are

The research is good. It’s just buried.

I’m Steven. I live in New York with my cat Scout, who is the reason any of this exists. Before Scout there was Bean. She was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease at six months, and her vet kept saying the same thing: there is so little research for cats like her.

There is good research. It is buried in journals nobody reads with a cat on their lap. So I built the thing that reads them for you. If you or your team have a question, write to me at hello@dailybiscuits.com. I answer every one.

Your adopters’ privacy

Careful with the data.

  • Nothing is sold. Nothing about an adopter is shared, sold or used for ads. The privacy policy has the rest.
  • Texts stop when they say so. STOP ends them. START brings them back.
  • Smart answers are opt-in. In the app, Ask only switches on after they say yes, and switches off again in Settings.
  • The fine print is on the card. Adopters see the terms before they send a single text.
